Grace and Cornerstone Youth meet together in Denison every Wednesday during the school year. Kids can travel from Grace with Pastor Dave at 6pm.
Kids and leaders eat together at 6:30. Its a good time to reconnect and exhale after a busy schedule of work, school, music and sports. The menu is free, basic and usually popular, prepared and/or donated by Moms and others who love teenagers.
Praise and worship is an important component of all of our gatherings, so age-appropriate music and singing comes next.
Currently the cirriculum under study is ‘Jesus – do you know Him?’ by Group; a Bible -based interactive lesson.
A group game finishes the night, and kids are returned home before 9pm.
Special events throughout the year may include concerts, area events, seasonal events, youth gatherings and outreaches. The Dare to Share Student Conference in Lincoln in February is our first event of 2014.
Our vision for the youth that come to Grace is one of passion and love for teenagers. Through the years, we have not only seen our own church kids come to a solid walk with God, but also other teens who have no church home or established youth group within their church. It is our desire for teens to come to a realization that there is a God who truly loves them and personally cares about their every need, heartache, and dreams for life.
Our weekly lessons are not “preaching” at the kids but teaching by interacting with them. We talk about real life issues that they may be dealing with such as dating, drugs, alcohol, sex, and relationships with parents, siblings, and teachers. there are many issues that teens deal with today, and we try to touch on those things every week through our lessons by bringing in the word of God as a guiding force to bring solutions and comfort to their lives. Teenagers are loved and accepted right where they are when they come to Grace.
